News From Jamie Thompson

Just like that 2021 is upon us. I did a little exercise to reflect on last years events that took place, and what I was able to learn from them.

  •  In March I attended a Neurosynaptic Reconditioning course in Florida called The Powerful Living Experience.
  • I completed 75 Hard again this summer,  which was great for my mental strength and clarity when first dealing with all that Covid changed in the world around us.
  • I met 2 amazing strangers who became my accountability partners. We meet over zoom once a week to stay focused and ensure that progress is being made.
  • I became a proud uncle once again with the birth of my niece Everest.
  • I decided to move out of the house, and actually decided to pack up and ship off from Ontario to Alberta.
  • I drove across the country over a few days in a Uhaul truck with my brother to my new destination.
  • I moved into my first apartment in the downtown core of Calgary.
  • I enjoyed multiple hikes with breathtaking views of the rocky mountains.
  • I read 20 books, an all time annual record for me.
  • And I was surrounded by some amazing people who challenged me to become a better version of myself.
All in all, 2020 was actually a pretty great year for me. But with that being said, I have a lot more that I want to accomplish from a business and investing perspective for 2021.

That brings us to another year of new goals and new opportunities that are ready for the taking.

For many people the goals that were set at the beginning of 2020 fell off the back of the boat when Covid came crashing down on the world, and that makes 2021 a massive rebound year for a large majority of people.

What does your rebound year look like?

How are you going to focus only on what you can control and influence instead of worrying about what you can’t control and lose momentum?

How can you maximize our ROI for anything you do in 2021?

What does the structure of your weeks look like until the end of February when you’re prime to be building massive momentum?

Maybe you want to lose 20lbs that you gained over the lockdowns.

Maybe you want to get up earlier and follow a morning routine that will set your days up the right way, with strong mental clarity.

Maybe you want to make an extra $20,000 this year.

What does this look like for you and how can you get there with one step at a time?

For me, since moving to Calgary, I want to get involved in a few more real estate deals this year and successfully complete my first BRRRR deal using OPM.

What does that mean?

B – Buy an investment property that is under performing or in need of renovations
R – Renovate it
R – Rent it out
R – Refinance it and pay back investors
R – Repeat the process over and over

What is OPM?

It stands for Other Peoples Money.

Leveraging OPM is the best way to get involved in real estate investing and a great way to scale your portfolio.

As always, I wish you all nothing but the best in 2021 with every challenge and success you achieve.

The 20 things the generation that is 35 to 40 years old is looking for today.

Millennials : many want them, many fear them, few understand them. However, it is a reality that young people belonging to this generation are changing the way we work and the strategies for attracting and retaining talent in companies.

Millennials are characterized by their knowledge of technology and social networks; for being multitasks , dreamers and entrepreneurs. So if you want to conquer them in your company, you must keep in mind what they are looking for in a job. Take note:

Independence – Micromanaging doesn’t work for millennials. You don’t need to be “on top” of them all the time; let them think and act. The results will surprise you. Don’t confuse this with “being a boat” or indifferent; give them a guide and a delivery time, but allow them to define their times and processes. https://tinyurl.com/y28ftebl
